One of the leading administrators in all of vintage base ball, Bruce is the founder of the Eclipse Base Ball Club of Elkton back in November 2005. He put together the club as a subcomittee of the events and programing committee at Historic Elk Landing to bring a different element to the organization. After countless hours of putting together a club and finding players, his dream was realized on April 11, 2006 as the Eclipse played their first match against the Flemington Neshanock. Since then, the Eclipse have gone on to win 2 state championships in 2007 and 2008 and finish 2nd in the East in 2008. He has been responsible for putting together the Mid Atlantic Vintage Base Ball League, the Maryland State Championship Series as well as scheduling over 30 matches per year for the Eclipse. He was also the co-chairman of the 2008 Vintage Base Ball Association's National Convention and has been the co-chair of the Washington DC Classic for the last 3 years.
On the field, he has steadily increased his batting average the last 3 years to where in 2008 it was over .500. He was awarded most improved player in 2008 and can be stellar at times at 2B. He is also used as a fine back up hurler when called upon. At times, he can put on masterful hitting displays and can beat you with either line drives or mammouth blasts eclipsed by none on the club except for our fine Captain Hammer's monumental shots. Even in 2006 with a bad left arm, he was nicknamed "The One Armed Wonder" as he could hit just as well as most using just one arm.
